This connector is the successor of the connector type 2610-IEC to 2619-IEC rated to 600 V CAT III because of the requirements of the new IEC 61010-031 standard, which better protect the user of stackable connectors.

The conception of the connector type 2710-IEC to 2719-IEC started from the need to have a stackable connector able to protect the operator up to 1000 V CAT III.
